Norman Rockwell a very famous 20th century American artist and illustrator and creator of this illustration. It appeared on the September 1913 issue of Boys' life magazine, now a century old. This was his first of many covers he did for Boys' Life Magazine. He was the art editor for Boys' Life magazine for three years (1913-1916). The magazine was published by the Boy Scouts of America. Norman Rockwell is very popular in the United States for his portrayal of American life.
